the coast
The Costa Brava, literally the wild coast, is very popular with the tourists. It is an impressive nature reserve with rugged cliffs above beautiful small bays (Tamariu) and great beaches between the rocks, such as the beach of Pals. Moreover, in the area you can enjoy green with lots of pine and oak.
From Mas Tomasi is the beach just three kilometers away and at home in Tamariu and Playa de Pals is the beach within walking distance. The medieval village of Pals has been beautifully authentic houses, as Perratellada where the bars and inexpensive restaurants all complete.
A lot of entertainment in Playa d'Aro where a nice fair and a spectacular water park Aquadiver outright hits are for the kids. For nightlife you can visit the various villages in the area, such as Estartit.
the hinterland
The hinterland is even more beautiful than the coast. Trips to Banyoles, with the enchanting lake Besalu, with its ancient bridge, are a must.
A little further away Castellfolit de la Roca, built on a block of basalt, caused by volcanic eruptions and whose craters in the protected nature of the Zona Volcanica de la Garrotxa. This park is located between Castellfollit and Olot. A little further is a beautiful road that leads to Olot a 1000 meter high pass towards Rupit, an impressive medieval village where a beautiful, especially for children, popular waterfall is found.
The village Tavernet, at 1000 meters altitude, has a breathtaking view of the reservoir of Sau. Across the street is the Montseny Natural Park seen as a landmark in the 1706 meter high Turo de l'Home.
